John Crawford, 69 of R. R. 1, Attica passed away at Home Hospital in Lafayette on Sunday, November 28, 1976, having been in ill health the past year and a half. He was born at Attica on June 5, 1907, the son of John and Laura Luella Shultz Crawford. He had lived all his life at Attica Route 1, and was married January 19, 1935 at Wabash, IN to Courtenay Lee Howell. He had attended Attica School and was a farmer on Attica Route 1. He was one of the Directors of the Peoples Building & Loan of Attica, director of Fountain Co-op for thirty five years, a member of the Fountain County Extension Board, and member of the Fountain County Farm Bureau. Surviving besides the wife is one son, Howard John Crawford, R. R. Attica; two daughters, Mrs. David (Lauralee Ann) Hawkins of Brazil, IN and Maelinda Sue Crawford of West Lafayette. Also three sisters, Miss Alma Crawford, R. R. 1, Attica; Mrs. Lynn (Christel) Bell of Newborn and Mrs. Eva Lorene Aamodt of Olympia, WA; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Maus Funeral Chapel Wednesday with Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery.
