Edith Irene Crawford, 85, formerly of North Perry Street, Attica, who had been residing at Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, the past two years, died at Community Hospital, Williamsport. Saturday, July 26, at 7:30 p. m. She was born in Oakwood, Ill. Aug. 7, 1900, the daughter of Thomas and Almeda Wallace. She formerly lived in Danville, Ill., moved to Crawfordsville, lived there until 1964, and moved back to Attica and lived here since then. She was married in 1915, in Danville, to William A. Crawford, who preceded her in death in 1961. She attended Danville school and was a housewife. She was a member of the Attica Christian Church and the Woodland Heights Christian Church, Crawfordsville. Surviving, are two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Turpin, Attica, and Mrs. Edith Ann Corey, Marietta, Ga.; two sons, William (Dutch) Crawford, Lafayette, and Robert Crawford, Attica; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Leon, and one daughter, Fern Moran Lohmeyer. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. today (Tuesday) at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
