CRAVENS, Daniel - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Daniel W. Cravens of RR 4, Veedersburg, age 98, died Tuesday morning, March 22, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Herrin, Illinois, October 30, 1884, the son of Joseph and Eleanor Chapman Cravens. In 1920, he married Anna Dambacher, who died February 22, 1975. He was a member of the Baptist Church. A coal miner, he had lived in Freeburg, Illinois, until moving to the Veedersburg area four years ago.

  Survivors include three daughters, Bertha Rogers of RR 4, Veedersburg, Mrs. Ray Kassing of Bellville, Illinois, and Mrs. Leonard Keotz of Highland, Illinois; two brothers, Oscar of Herrin, Illinois, and William of St. Albers, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Friday morning at Renner Funeral Home in Freeburg with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery there. Maus Funeral Home of Attica was in charge of local arrangements. – thanks to S
