Robert Lee Crane, 77, of 402
Cedar St., died at 6:19 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 1994, in Woodland Manor Nursing
Center, Attica. He had been a resident there since Dec. 17, 1993. Mr. Crane
formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co., where he was a forklift
operator. He worked there for 30 years and retired in 1976. Born July 20, 1916,
in Independence, he grew up there and had been a resident of Attica since 1937.
He attended Williamsport High School. He married Evelyn J. Thayer on May 5,
1937, in Crawfordsville, and she survives. Mr. Crane was a former member of the
Attica Christian Church and the Eagles Lodge, where he was a charter member.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Lee Crane of Attica, and a sister, Mrs. Lela
Griffin of West Point; 3 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. His
parents and three brothers preceded in death. Friends were received at Maus
Funeral Home, Attica, 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1994. Service in Maus Chapel 2
p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994 The Rev. Jim Thomas officiated. Interment in
Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
