Veedersburg, Ind. - Joseph Harold Crane, 61, of Veedersburg Route 4, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday (July 28, 1972) at his home. He had been in ill health for some time. Born Dec. 13, 1910, at Danville, Ill., he was the son of Glen Byron and Irma Blanche Campbell Crane. He had spent his younger days in the Stone Bluff and Veedersburg areas and also was a resident of Chicago. Mr. Crane was a fireman in the Merchant Seamen. He also served in World War II in the Army from 1943 to 1946. Survivors include a son J. D. Murphy Crane of Veedersburg Route 4; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica with the Rev. Bill Keller officiating. Burial will be in Crazy Corner Cemetery at Veedersburg. Military rites will be at the graveside. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. - - Joseph Harold Crane, 61, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday in his residence on Rt. 4, Veedersburg, after a long illness. Raised in the Stone Bluff and Veedersburg area, he had also lived in Chicago. He had been a fireman as a Merchant seamen, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a World War II veteran. Born Dec. 13, 1910, in Danville, Ill., he was a son of Glen Bryon and Erma Blanche Campbell Crane. He was married July 4, 1933, to Dorothy Starnes in Covington. Survivors include a son, J.D. Murphy of Rt. 4, Veedersburg, two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Bill Keller officiating. Burial will be in Crazy Corner Cemetery in Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Sunday.
