CRANE, Cora Miller - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Cora M. Crane of RR 1, Hillsboro, age 85, died Thursday morning, October 29, at her home. She was the wife of Dr. George Crane, who writes a syndicated column, and served as her husband’s business secretary.

  Mrs. Crane was born at Ottumwa, Iowa, October 15, 1897, the daughter of Eli and Emma Goodrich Miller. She married Dr. Crane on October 25, 1928. Mrs. Crane was a member of Chicago Temple First Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Fort Wayne High School and attended Indiana University, Northwestern University and New York University.

  Also surviving are three sons, Congressman Philip M. Crane of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Congressman Daniel B. Crane of Danville, Illinois, and Dr. David G. Crane of Martinsville; a daughter, Mrs. Judith Ross of Downers grove, Illinois; a brother, Carver L. Miller of Irving, Texas; and 22 grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. John Kirkpatrick and Rev. Gil Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. – thanks to s
