Rupert A. "Spike" Craig, age 76, of Attica, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, ( Dec 5, 1969) at the Community Hospital in Williamsport, where he had been a patient since Nov. 1. He had been in ill health the past two years. Mr. Craig was born in Colorado on Nov. 12, 1902, but spent most of his life in Attica. He was married Nov. 13, 1958 to Ruby E. Jones in Covington and she preceded him in death May 20, 1967. In his earlier life, he had been a professional wrestler and boxer. Employed for 42 years as a crane operator at Harrison Steel Castings Co., he retired in 1966. He was a member of the Attica Moose Lodge. Surviving are; three step-sons, Charles Solomon of Attica, Bert Solomon of Titusville, FL, and William Solomon of Lafayette; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Benskin of Attica, Mrs. Evelyn Rorrer of Rockaway, N.J.; 24 step-children and four step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The Harry Randolph officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. tch
