Denton R. "Studley" Craig, 86, of Williamsport Route 1, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 15, 1975) in the Meadow Heights Home. He had been ill two years. Born Aug. 27, 1888, in White County, he was the son of J. D. and Loulla Cook Craig. He had formerly lived in Lafayette, but had been a resident of Warren County the past 28 years. In 1907 he married Nancy Norah, who died Oct. 8, 1968. He had been employed by the Indiana State Highway Department and had formerly had the agency for Marmon car in Lafayette. Mr. Craig attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lafayette and the Shrine Club. He was an avid sportsman and golfer. He was the first man to own and fly a single engine plane in Indiana. Survivors include a son, Michael S. of Williamsport, and several nieces and nephews in Lafayette. Services in the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Vernon Seaton officiating. Burial in Grandview Cemetery in West Lafayette.

    Denton R. (Studeley) Craig, 86, Rt. 1, Williamsport, died 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Meadow Heights Nursing Center, Williamsport. He had been in ill health for two years.
  He was born in White County, Ind., Aug. 27, 1888, the son of J. D. and Luella Cook Craig. He formerly lived at Lafayette and had been a resident of Warren County the past 28 years. He was married in 1907 to Nancy Norah, who preceded him in death Oct. 8, 1968.
  Mr. Craig was an agent for the Marmon Car Co. in Lafayette and was also employed by the Indiana State Highway Department near Crawfordsville. He attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Lafayette and the Shrine Club. He was an avid sportsman and golfer.
  Mr. Craig was the first man to have owned and flown a single-engine plane in Indiana.
  He is survived by one son, Michael S. Craig, Williamsport, who is manager of Riley Field in Attica. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews at Lafayette.
  Services were held at the Dale Maus Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Vernon Seaton officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, West Lafayette. – thanks to S
