R. Lee Cox, 77, Covington, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday (June 3, 1976) in Covington Manor Nursing Center. He was a carpenter and had been in ill health. He was a resident of Covington for 31 years and was a former resident of Tangier and Hammond. He was a welder in his early life at East Chicago. Mr. Cox was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church, the Modern Woodman of Kingman and Fountain Lodge 60 F & AM of Covington. Born July 22, 1898, he was a son of Robert L. and Jinnie Keller Cox of Tangier He was married to LaVerne Shelton on June 21, 1941. Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Allan (Margaret) Ann) Woodrow of Covington; two sister, Mrs. Maus Kormalis of Whittier, CA and Mrs. Hazel Massey of Danville, IL; a brother, Mote of Rockville; several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services will at 4 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with the Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Masonic services will be at 8 o'clock tonight in the funeral home. tch
