Covington—Lois A. Cox, 72, Covington, died at 11:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.
She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Covington, the daughter of Roy A. and Nadine Holycross Holder. She was married Dec. 28, 1950, to Thomas Cox, who survives.
She was a life resident of Covington and graduated from Covington High School. She was a telephone operator for many years at Covington and Danville, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Church of Christ.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Clint (Peggy) Karushis, Covington; two sisters, Shirley Lyons, Covington, and Mrs. Charles (Joan Kay) O’Neal, Henning, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. – thanks to S
