Solon P. Cowgill, 93, died today in a nursing home. He had been living with his son, Joel Cowgill, at 424 N. Grant. The son is employed in the transportation department of the News and the Star.
Born at Green Hill in Warren County, Mr. Cowgill was the son of Rev. Joel Cowgill, a circuit riding United Brethren minister.
Mrs. Cowgill had lived in Indianapolis three years. Most of his life he had been a farmer. He was a member of the Church of God.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with burial in Harveysburg Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow afternoon and night at Meyer & Abdon Funeral Home here.
Survivors besides the son are four daughters, Alice Cowgill and Martha Dismore, Indianapolis; Ruth Cowgill, St. Louis, Mo and Esther Perkins, Canton O, 9 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
