COWAN, Esther Clift - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg, Ind. - Mrs. Esther Pauling Cowan, 63, 412 Helms, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 10, 1973) in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She had been a patient for two weeks. Born Dec. 22, 1909, in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of John and Mary Dye Clift. She was married Dec. 24, 1929, in Veedersburg, to Emory M. Cowan, who died in 1950. Survivors include two sons, John of rural Kingman and Jerry at home; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Smith of Veedersburg; a brother, Charles Clift of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Grimes of Veedersburg and Mrs. Sally Hoover of Crawfordsville; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Cowan was a member of the Community Bible Church of Veedersburg. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Parham Funeral Home. Bud Stidham will officiate, with burial in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
