Covington - Branic H. Courtney of Perrysville, passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fox of Attica at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1964. He had been visiting his sister for a few days and his death was sudden and unexpectedly. Fountain County Coroner Ralph Nelson investigated the death and found death was due to be from natural causes. A resident of the Perrysville Community for the past 11 years, prior to that having lived at Pine Village, Morocco and Attica, he had been a postal employee in Danville, Ill. and had retired in 1958 from the C & EI Shop in Danville, Ill. Mr. Courtney, 83, was born February 7, 1881 to Frank and Martha (Burnside) Courtney in Jefferson County, Ind. He was married to Cecil Ann Ricketts on August 1, 1943. Mrs. Courtney passed away December 28, 1961. Surviving are two brothers, William of Morocco and Benjamin of Rensselaer; and three sisters, Mrs. Janie Jones of Brook, Mrs. Fox of Attica and Mrs. Nova Wiltfang of Morocco. he was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters. Friends may call at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, after 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14. Rev. Dewey Findley will officiate and interment will be made in Snoddy's Cemetery, south of Covington.
