GESSIE - Inez Cossey, 84, of Rt. 1, Perrysville, who had lived in the Gessie area all her life, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning at the home of a son, Robert, in Fort Pierce, Fla. She was a member of the Gessie United Methodist Church, its ladies aid, Gessie Royal Neighbors and Easter Star. She was a graduate of the Winona Conservatory of Music at Winona. She was born in Gessie on July 29, 1896, a daughter of Edward and Effie Carithers Saltsgaver. She married Forrest Cossey on Oct. 1, 1921. He survives. Surviving besides the husband and son is another son, James of Decatur, Ill.; a brother, Dewey Saltsgaver of Rt. 1, Kingman; and five grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with the Rev. Donald Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Sunday. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of donations to the Gessie United Methodist Church. - jlr
