Claude Cory, 81, former resident of Mt. Carmel, Il died Tuesday at the Parke County Nursing Home near Rockville. He had suffered a stroke several days ago. Born in Harveysburg on Jan 13, 1874, he was the son of Jeremiah and Ellen Meisner Cory. In 1899 he was married to Sylvia Swain (sic). He was a retired railroad worker and a memver of the Mt. Carmel Elks Lodge. Survivors are two sons, Major Ariol Cory in the Phillipine Islands with the Army and Donald Cory of Milwaukee; two brothers, ML Cory of Kingman and Wayne Cory of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs Katie Hudson of Rockville; four grandchildren and two greats. He was preceded in death by 3 bros and a sister. Funeral services at 2 pm. Saturday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. William Mayoh officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.

Mr. Cory was a retired railroad worker and a member of the Mount Carmel Elks Lodge. Survivors are two sons, Maj. Airol Cory, in the Philippine Islands with the Army, and Donald Cory of Milwaukee; two brothers, M.L. Cory of Kingman and Wayne Cory of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Katie Hudson of Rockville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. William Mayo officiating. Interment will be at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon. The hour of the services is not yet determined.
