Elizabeth Cornett, 80, Formerly Of Covington, Dies- COVINGTON- Elizabeth Cornett, 80, former resident of Covington, died at 10 p.m. Sept. 1 in the Gooding General Hospital, Gooding, Idaho. She had been a patient there for eight weeks and had been in ill health for the past 13 years. Mrs. Cornett was born near London, Ky., Oct. 20, 1881, daughter of Thomas and Ann Philpot Martin. She was married to Isaac Cornett Nov. 17, 1899, who survives. A resident of Covington until 1925, Mrs. Cornett moved to Hamilton, Ohio for a number of years. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. She was also a resident of Wendover, Utah, and Gooding, Idaho, for eight years. Other survivors include six children, Virgil of Lodi, Calif., John and William of Hamilton, Ohio, Nellie Lucas of Covington, Anna Wilson of Gooding, Idaho, and Ruby Susich of Wendover, Utah; a brother, Timothy Martin of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Addie Benge of London, Ky.; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three daughters and two sons. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Rev. Glen Ray will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime after 2 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Elizabeth Martin Cornett, age 80, mother of Mrs. Arthur (Nellie Pearl) Lucas of Covington Rt. 3 and a former resident of Covington, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Gooding General Hospital, Gooding, Idaho, where she had been a patient eight weeks.  She had been in failing health for the past 13 years.  Mrs. Cornett was born Oct. 20, 1881, near London, Ky., the daughter of Thomas and Ann Philpot Martin.  She was married Nov. 17, 1899 to Isaac Cornett, who preceded her in death.  She resided in Covington until 1925 when she moved to Hamilton, Ohio.  She had been a resident of Wendover, Utah and Gooding, Idaho for the past eight years.  She was a member of the Baptist Church at Hamilton, Ohio.  Surviving Mrs. Cornett are:  six children, Virgil Robert Cornett of Lodi, Calif., Mrs. Lucas of Covington, Rt. 3, John Leonard Cornett of Hamilton, Ohio, Mrs. Anna Frances Wilson of Gooding, Idaho, William Milton Cornett of Hamilton, and Mrs. Ruby Marie Susich of Wendover, Utah; one brother, Timothy Martin of Hamilton; one sister, Mrs. Addie Benge of London, Ky.; 21 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three daughters and two sons.  Short funeral rites were conducted at the Thompson Funeral Home in Gooding, Idaho at 8 p.m. Monday.  The body was returned to Covington and is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home.  The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery here.
