Funeral rites for Mrs. Nina Corey, age 69, of Covington Rt. 3, a life resident of Fountain County, who died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, (1960) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, where she had been a patient three weeks, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. She had been ill six months. The Rev. George F. Beatty officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Merle Hart, Robert Galloway, Mack Fairchild, Gail Coffing, Harold Meade and Don Crain. Mrs. Corey was born March 22, 1891 in Shawnee township, the daughter of Thomas W. and Ida Miller Cox. She was married on June 11, 1910 to C. E. Corey, who survives. Mrs. Corey was a member of the Fountain Christian Church. Other survivors includes two sons, Cecil at home, and Lee of Covington Rt. 3; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Marjorie) Ricketts, Covington Rt. 3; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Douglass of Veedersburg and Mrs. Glenna Waldron of Covington Rt. 3; a brother, Russell Cox of Williamsport; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
