Kingman, Jan 3 (1944)– Mrs. Cora Copeland, 73, resident of this community for many years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Ball in Champaign, Ill Sunday following an illness of several weeks. She was born in Parke County near Sylvania on March 18 1870 the daughter of William and Eleanor Lindley Maris. She was married to James Copeland Nov 27, 1895. Until Mr. Copeland’s death several years ago, she had spent most of her life in this community. The survivors include the daughter, Mrs. Ball at whose home she died; a son, Maris Copeland of Frankton, Ind; a brother, Dr. Albert Maris, of Long Beach, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Martha Hadley of Sylvania; a half-brother, John Maris of Oklahoma and a half-sister, Mrs. Deborah Wilkey, also of Oklahoma. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Frankton where the son resides. The body was then brought to the Rush Creek Friends Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. EM Woodward of Bloomingdale in charge. Burial was in the Fraternal cemetery at Kingman.
