COOPER, Vera Butts Keeling - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Verna E. Cooper, 80, native of Fountain County and a resident of Lebanon 30 years, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the National Nursing Home at Lebanon. She had been bedfast since March. She was the daughter of Napoleon B. and Elvira Bailey Butts and was born Jan. 8, 1887. She was twice married, first to William Keeling, who died, and then to Perry Cooper, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, John R. Butts of Danville, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hanley of Chicago, Miss Edith M. Butts of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Clifford Bunnell of Waynetown. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Lebanon EUB Church. A talented musician, she had played on radio programs from Indianapolis. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Russell and Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon, where friends may call. Rev. Kenneth Vaught will be the minister, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. - - Waynetown, Ind. - Mrs. Verna Cooper, 80, a native of Fountain County, died yesterday (July 23, 1967) at the National Nursing Home in Lebanon, Ind. Born Jan. 8, 1887, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Elvira Butts. She was married to Perry Cooper. Survivors include a brother, John Butts of Danville, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Henley of Chicago, Miss Edith Butts of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Ruby Bunnell of Waynetown. She also was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. The Rev. Mr. Vaught will officiate. The body is at the funeral home.
