Mellott - Freeman Ernest Cooper, 80, of Sheridan, a native of Mellott, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Riverview Hospital at Noblesville. He had been in ill health for a year. He had been a farmer, worked for Hicks Body Co. at Lebanon and for a dairy farm near Indianapolis. He was married to Helen Stephens of Sheridan in 1952. She survives. Born Oct. 3, 1893, he was a son of James and Sina Cooper. Survivors include three brothers, Glen of Lebanon and Fred and Everett of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Thurnie Drew of Laurel, Mrs. Elsie Thompson of Hillsboro, Mrs. Beulah Hoover of Walton and Mrs. Ada Baity of Walton, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hinshaw Funeral Home at Sheridan with the Rev. Jessie Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lebanon. Friends may call at the funeral home today.

Mellott – Freeman Cooper, 80, a former Mellott resident died recently at
Sheridan. Mr. Cooper was born and reared on a farm near Mellott. In 1952 he was
married at Sheridan to Helen Stephens, who survives. Other survivors include
three brothers, Glen Cooper of Lebanon, Fred and Everett Cooper, both of
Crawfordsville; and four sisters, Mrs. Thurnie Drew of Laurel Mrs. Elsie
Thompson of Hillsboro; Mrs. Beulah Hoover and Mrs. Ada Baity, both of Walton.
