Following her aged companion in death in less than a year, Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper, 85, died at her home in Hillsboro at 1:30 Wednesday morning, Oct 3. Death was due to an injury received a week ago when she
fell in the basement of her home suffering a broken hip. Her late husband Jacob Preston Cooper, aged 90, died on October 15, 1944 from a broken hip suffered on May 21, 1944.
Mrs. Cooper spent her entire life in Hillsboro and vicinity. She was the eldest daughter of Joseph and Miranda Campbell Glascock and was born May 18, 1860 on a farm west of here. She was married to Jacob Preseton
Cooper of Hillsboro on Dec 24, 1879. A daughter, Gracie Lucinda was born to this union, who died at the age of six. They resided on a farm until 1892 when they moved to Hillsboro. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the
Hillsboro Christian Church.
Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Charles Frazier, one nephew, Charles Frazier, Jr. and one niece, Mrs. Helen Champlin, all of Evanston, Ill. The funeral service will be held from the Hillsboro Christian Church at 2 p.m. (sic) Friday with Rev. HA Davis, of Clermont, a former pastor in charge. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. --- kbz
