Attica – The only woman to serve as deputy sheriff of
Fountain County, Mrs. Edythe Cooper, 79, died at 6 a.m. today in Community
Hospital, Williamsport, where she had been a patient one day. She had been ill
six months. A native of Green Hill, she
was educated at Attica, Mrs. Coper live most o her life her and resided at 1115
S. Brady St. She was married to Chester Cooper, who survives. Mrs. Cooper served as deputy sheriff of
Fountain County for 1947-1950. She was a
member of the Home Industrial Club. Surviving with the husband are a daughter,
Mrs. Glenn (Marjorie) McCoy of Attica. - kbz
