COOPER, Chester Glenn

Attica – Chester Glenn Cooper, a former Attica resident died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the home of his granddaughter, Melanie Purple, with whom he recently had been living. They lived at 486 Patrician Drive, Lemon Valley, Nev. Mr. Cooper was a retired Attica police chief. He also had been Fountain County sheriff from 1947-1950. Born in Mellott on March 23, 1893, he attended school there and lived in Attica most of his life before moving to Reno, Nev in 1982. His wife, the former Edythe Songer died May 30, 1979. Mr. Cooper was a member of Attica Moose Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Marjorie) McCoy of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Elva Ballah of Veedersburg; four brothers, Forest Cooper of Lakeland, Fla; Dowie Cooper of Crawfordsville; Floyd Cooper of Attica and Fern Cooper of Mellott – kbz
