Hillsboro – Miss Vallerie I. Coontz, 62 of Rt 1, was found dead in her home Tuesday morning. She was born in Danville, Ill and attended school there. She came to Hillsboro 47 years ago. Miss Coontz formerly was a telephone switchboard operator. She was a member of the Christian Church at Danville. Surviving are a half sister, Mrs. Emily Anderson of Champaign, Ill; and one half brother, Darrell Seaman of Danville, Ill. - kbz

Miss Vallerie I. Coontz of RR 1, Hillsboro, age 62, was found dead at her home Tuesday morning, March 9. She was a member of the Christian Church in Danville, Illinois, and had been a switchboard operator in Hillsboro. Miss Koontz was born in Danville, September 25, 1919, the daughter of William and Pauline Coontz.
Survivors include a half-sister, Emily Anderson of Champaign, Illinois; and a half-brother, Darrell Seaman of Danville.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery at Danville, Illinois. – thanks so much to “S”
