Waynetown, Ind. - Mrs. Rose Coon, 58, of Wingate Route 1, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday (July 15, 1974) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born Jan. 30, 1916, she was the daughter of Frank and Edith Thomas Ratcliff. She was married Dec. 14, 1941, to Clifton J. Coon of Wingate, who survives. Mrs. Coon was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, Ladies Guild, Wingate Home Extension Club and Dorothy Q. Chapter DAR of Crawfordsville. She was a church clerk and a past president and gold star mother of Wingate American Legion Auxiliary 174. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Edith Ratcliff; a son, Robert of Wingate; a daughter, Mrs. Karon Smith of Wingate Route 1; four sisters, Mrs. Julia Rice of Paoli, Pa., Mrs. Mary Jane Bickett of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Esther Fine of Crawfordsville Route 8 and Mrs. Lillian Coon of Nokesville, Va., an aunt and three grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her father, a brother and a sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ of Wingate, with the Rev. Clyde Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The family has requested any memorials be in the form of donations to the cancer fund. - -

Wingate - The body of Mrs. Rosinda Coon, 58, of Wingate, clerk of the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, will lie in state one hour prior to services there at 11 a.m. Thursday. The names of two survivors were provided to The Journal-Review in error. A sister should have been identified as Mrs. Mary June Pickett of Santa Rosa, Calif., and an aunt should have been identified as Mrs. Mary Call of Clinton.

Mrs. Coon was a past president and Gold Star member of the Wingate American Legion Auxiliary. A 1934 graduate of Green Township High School, she was employed by R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. at Crawfordsville until 1942. Born Jan. 30, 1916, she was a daughter of Frank and Edith Thomas Ratcliff. She married Clifton Coon of Wingate on Dec. 14, 1941. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, now residing at Crawfordsville; a son, Robert of Wingate; a daughter, Mrs. Karon Smith of Wingate; four sisters, Mrs. Julia Rice of Paoli, Pa., Mrs. Mary Jane Pickett of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Ester Fine of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Lillian Coon of Norkesville, Va.; an aunt, Mrs. Mary Cole of Clinton, and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ at Wingate with the Rev. Clyde Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown after 3 p.m. Wednesday. A family spokesman said memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Coon's name to the Montgomery County Cancer Fund.
