Mrs. Ida Evelyn Cook, age 51, of 206 Illinois St., Danville, step-sister of Mrs. Herbert (Marie) Parrett, Covington, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where she had been a patient since June 30. She had been ill two years and bedfast for a year. Mrs. Cook was born March 19, 1911, at Dana, the daughter of Edwin and Emma Randolph Haworth. After her schooling in Newport, she moved to Danville and was employed in the Veterans Administration Hospital. In November, 1933, she was married to Forrest Vern Cook in Danville. She later was graduated from Utterback Business College and was employed as a bookkeeper for L. D. McKinzie from 1955-61. Ill health forced her to retire. She was a member of the McKinley Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Vern M. Cook and Glen L. Cook, both of Danville; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Audrey Schulz of Evansville, and her mother, Mrs. Emma May Murphy of Danville. Also two half-brothers, William Murphy of Danville and Robert R. Murphy of Denver, Colo.; two step sisters, Mrs. Marie Parrett of Covington and Mrs. Leota Woodard of Hammond. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services were held this afternoon, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at the Pape Memorial Home in Danville. The Rev. Cyril M. Jackson officiated. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
