Dale W. “Chip” Conrad of RR 1, Covington, ten-year-old son of Fountain County Sheriff Dale Warren Conrad, died Sunday morning, March 29, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born August 2, 1970, the son of Dale Warren and Judith Pryor Conrad, and was a fifth grade student at Covington Elementary School. He was a member of Covington First Baptist Church, Covington Little League, school basketball team and YMCA summer soccer league.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Judith and Richard Rennaker of RR 1, Covington; his father and stepmother, Dale and Mary Conrad of Covington; three sisters, Erin, Lauren and Debra, and two brothers, David and Bobby, all at home; the grandparents, Glen and Martha Conrad of Attica, Theodore Pryor of Zanesville, Ohio, George and Mildred Lomas of Oakwood, Illinois; and great grandparents, Mrs. Ida Martin of Vermillion Manor Nursing Home near Tilton, Illinois, Faye Bonham of Zanesville, Ohio, Charles and Zula Bush of Lodi.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Covington First Baptist Church with Dr. Gregg Curtis and Rev. Glen Ray Jr. officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
