VEEDERSBURG — Kathleen P. Conner, 79, rural Veedersburg, died at 8:02 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2002 in Valley Regional Medical Center, Brownsville, Texas. She was born June 7, 1922 and grew up in New York City. She married Gene E. Conner from Attica. He preceded in death July 28, 1998. She was formerly employed by RMC of Attica and after retiring she tremendously enjoyed her flea market trading and was well known for her crocheting and knitting skills. She was also an avid bingo player. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States and had many friends from coast to coast. Especially their friends at Breeze Lake Campground in Brownsville. Survivors include: a son, Gene Conner, Jr., Franklin; three granddaughters including Nicole St. Jacques, New York; she was second mom to Ella Spring, Covington and grandma to her three daughters, Lora (Bill) Sorrell, Covington, Amy (Scott) Manwaring, Anderson and Joella (Bill) Dowers, Covington, and their children, Nathan, Sara and Maegan Manwaring, Ashleigh and MacKensey Sorrell and Christopher and Timothy Dowers; and special friends, Darcey, Megan and Andrew Bryant, Fishers. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard, in July 1998. As per her wishes, she was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the funeral home from 4-5 p.m. prior to the service. The family requests no flowers, but instead asks that donations be sent to Hope Lodge, St. Vincent's Hospital or the charity of donor's choice. – jlr
