Mellott – Sylvester J. Connell, age 37 of Oakland Calif son of Mrs. John Ferris of Mellott died unexpectedly following a heart attack in Oakland. He had been employed by the United Van Lines for many years and had resided in California for the past 15 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was born June 15, 1930 at Harden Co KY and was reared and educated in Montgomery County. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Patricia; one son, Randy and one daughter, Wanda at home; three brothers, William of Crawfordsville; Francis of Cleburne, Tex and Daniel of Montrose, Calif and one sister, Mrs. Floyd Wilson of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Connell. Funeral services were held Friday at Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
