The state banking department was notified today that the Cates bank at Cates, Fountain County has been closed. Lack of business was given as the reason for the closing. The bank was capitalized at $10,000 and according to its last report had deposits of $50,000. John W. Young was vice president and George P. Pavey, cashier.
