Election Notice. State of Indiana ) ) SS Fountain County, ) I, ELIAS C. WILCOX, Clerk of the Ciruit Court of said county, do hereby certify to the Sheriff of said county of Fountain, that the following officers are to be elected at the General Election to be held on the second Tuesday in October next, to-wit--
Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Indiana;
Secretary of State
Auditor of State; Treasurer of State
Attorney-General for the State of Indiana
Clerk of the Supreme Court of the State of Indiana
Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Indiana
Reporter for the Supreme Court of the State of Indiana
One Representative to the Congress of the United States for the Eighth Congressional District of the State of Indiana
A Prosecuting Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of the State of Indiana;
One Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for Fountain county
One Prosecuting Attorney for said county
A Senator and one Representative to the General Assembly of the State of Indiana for Fountain county
One County treasurer for Fountain county
One Sheriff for Fountain county; One Coroner for Fountain county
One Surveyor for Fountain county
One County Commissioner for Fountain county
One Township Assessor in each and every Township in Fountain county.

The qualified voters of Fountain county are hereby notified to meet at their usual places of holding elections in their respective Townships, on the second Tuesday in October next (1856), and there vote for persons to fill the several offices mentioned in the Clerk's Certificate.
