SYLVANIA CROWDER DELP

Source: Veedersburg News, Friday, July 28, 1916

A Marshall physician was called Tuesday to the home of Mrs. Ples Delp who lives near Grange Corner, where he found Mrs. Delp in a critical condition from the effects of morphine taken with suicidal intent. Mrs. Delp was left a widow a short time ago with several children to care for and trouble in her efforts to raise these children was contributed to the cause of her act. Her husband was shot and killed at the McIntire mine over a year ago for which two men, Jack Thomas and son are serving a sentence in the Michigan (City?) prison. After a few hours faithful work, Dr. Warren was able to revive the patient. Mrs. Delp formerly lived in this city, and at that time she and her husband had a hard time in being able to support their family.
