CLARK, SB - 53rd anniv

Wingate, April 17 – Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Clarke will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary at their home in Wingate tomorrow with a family dinner. They were married April 18, 1884, at the bride’s home near Rob Roy. Mrs. Clarke was formerly Miss Ella Hall. Their early married life was spent in Fountain County and in Illinois. For 29 years they have been residents of Montgomery County. Mr. Clarke, now retired was a tailor. They are parents of three children; Mrs. IS Alfred of Seattle, Wash and Weir S. Clarke of Seattle, Wash. And Don Clarke of Mellott. They have one grandchild and one great grandchild. Mr. Clarke is 74 years old, while Mrs. Clarke is 73.
Note: Although the article says Clarke, their tombstones say CLARK – Ella F. Hall Clark 13 Jan 1863 Fountain County – 17 Sept 1941 Wingate, Montgomery County – they are buried at Greenlawn in Wingate. Sam B. 13 Aug 1863 Fountain County died Tippecanoe Co 2 Jan 1945. Thus they would have passed four more anniversaries how nifty!
