Covington, Ind – Fountain County Sheriff Rusty Peevler may become the first inmate in his new jail.  Peevler says he won’t allow prisoners to be housed in the jail, even if it means defying a court order.  County prisoners have been housed in the jail at Crawfordsville at a daily cost of $18 each while the $800,000 Fountain County Jail is being built.  Fountain County officials are anxious to move their prisoners into the new jail.  But Peevler says it would be a security risk put inmates in the incomplete jail.  Only one of two cellblocks is done and not all security monitors have been installed.    ~~~transcribed by kbz
