The motion picture show opened at Mudlavia this week started off very successfully and seems to meet a need that has long been felt in and about the big sanitarium. The picturesque chapel erected several years ago by Mrs. HL Kramer is being utilized for the above shows and it has been filled each night that it has been open. Mrs. Kramer has been at Mudlavia all winter and feeling that the people of the community roundabout as well as guests at the hotel needed something in the way of clean interesting entertainment to vary the monotony she decided to utilize the chapel for a “movie” theater. BF Hittle, now clerk at the hotel formerly operated the Theatorium in this city and he was made manager of the project. A fine Edison machine was secured and arrangements with Lieber Company, Indianapolis for a service of high-class films. The theater is to be known as the Mudlavia Orpheum and will be open three nights a week – Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays two films being put on each night. These three nights were chosen because it has long been a custom at Mudlavia to have dances in the music room on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. While established with a philanthropic purpose in view it is expected that the Orpheum will pay its own way. The admission is 10 cents and the management desires that it be known that it is not planned for the entertainment of the guests at Mudlavia alone but all who care to attend. --kbz
