M.P. WOLFE, Co. Recorder, Crawfordsville, who is one of Montgomery's efficient and honorable County officers, was born in Fountain Co, Indiana Nov 28, 1841. He is the son of Henry and Jane Wolfe, who were among the early settlers of Ft. Co. and who, in 1857, moved to Montgomery Co. and settled on Sec. 31, Brown Twp. There Marvin P. grew to man's estate and received such educ. as the schools of that vicinity afforded. He succeeded in acquiring a good business educ. by taking a thorough course and grad. from the Indianapolis Business College. In 1869 he came to Crawfordsville and engaged in the drygoods business in the capacity of a salesman. This business brought him in contact with the people, who, in the fall of 1876, elected him to the office of recorder of Montgomery Co. In Aug of 1877, he entered upon the active discharge of his duties, in the discharge of which has pleased the dem. party so well they have nominated him for reelection. Mr. W. is a member of Crawfordsville Commandery No 25 of the Order of AF & AM. Feb 18, 1869, he marr. Mrs. Mary C. COWAN by whom he has two children, Manie and Arthur. He also has two stepdaughters, Misses Effie and Maud Cowan.

WOLFE, Marvin P; of Crawfordsville, Ind was born in Fountain Co In on the 28th of November 1841. His parents were Henry and Jane Wolfe. Mr. Henry Wolfe and family moved in 1857 on a farm in Sec. 31, Brown Twp. In 1861, the son, Marvin entered in the dry goods business in Crawfordsville; Feb 18, 1869 he marr. Mary W. COWAN ; his business integrity and his natural kindness won him the confidence and good will of the people and in 1877, he was elected Recorder of Montgomery Co. He has two children: Manie and Arthur and two stepdaughtesr, Effie and Maud Cowan.
