Aunt Nancy Townsley, who settled here with her husband in the year 1827 and reared her family all of whom have moved away from the Creek except her daughter, Mrs. Bennet French to whom she was paying a visit was pleasantly surprised with a sumptuous dinner prepared by her children and old neighbors and spread under a shade tree which has grown from a seed planted by her 30 odd years ago. The following parties enjoyed her surprise and the feast spread:
Mrs. Nancy Townsley, aged 84 years, Mrs. TP Townsley, aged 61 years Sullivan Indiana; Mrs. Mariah Yeazel, aged 82 years; Mrs. WB Smith aged 71 years; Mrs. Catharine Orahood, aged 9 years; Mrs. T Cranor, aged 66 years; Mr. and Mrs. French and family; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coleman; Mrs. Melvina Johnson; Mr. and Mrs. A Spinks and daughter; Mrs. Jane Johnson; Mrs. Philip Grubb and daughter, Mrs. Elijah Rhodes; Mrs. James Elwell and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. IN Orahood; Miss Ola Paschal; JD Orahood and family; Coal Creek, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. JL Townsley and daughter, Mrs. TH McGeorge; Mrs. ME Coleman and nice, Mrs. Sarah Donaldson, Covington, Indiana; Mr. Leander Townsley, Hoopeston, Ill.
