“Sketches of Candidates of Good Government.” – John S. Myers born in Fountain County, Indiana in 1859. Educated in county schools and taught school until 1884, when he went to Southwestern Kansas. Engaged in newspaper business, starting the first paper in Ashland. Helped organize the county and was appointed county clerk. Was also in the banking business. Came to LA in 1890. Has since been engaged in the abstract business and in banking. Served one term as clerk of Judge Waldo York’s court and was deputy county tax collector. Elected city auditor two years ago.
