James J. MEEKER, farmer, Rob Roy, son of Usual H. Meeker, was born in Richland township, January 31 1847. In the spring of 1856 he moved with his father's family into Shawnee township and has since resided here. He was married April 21 1870, to Martha E. McKnight, daughter of Linton and Margaret (Marcus) McKnight, who removed from Ohio to Richland township in 1850. Her father was a Virginian by birth. Their marriage has produced two children; Hettie M. b. November 20 1871, and Usual M. b. November 29 1873. Both parents are members of the Christian Denomination, and have their membership at the Union Cemetery church. Mr. Meeker has 190 acres of first-class land, 30 acres in pasture and timber. He is a republican.
