Covington Aug 4 - The Covington school board are looking for a capable man to take charge of the schools in this city, on account of the resignation of Manford F. Livengood. Mr. Livengood was elected to the
superintendency several weeks ago and was to assume his duties Aug 1.  He is employed in the revenue collector's office at Terre Haute and has recently been promoted and given an increase in salary. He was in
Covington yesterday and said that when he was offered the position of superintendent of the Covington schools he thought that he would accept because at that time his work at TH was not very congenial but now that he has been transferred to another department where he likes the work and where he receives a substantial increase in salary and prospects of rapid promotion he feels that in justice to himself he can not turn it down.  He has decided to get out of school work entirely. Mr. Livengood was superintendent of schools of Fountain County for 12 years, and prior to that was identified with the educational affairs of the county.  He
is a very capable man and the patrons of the schools here will be disappointed to learn that he is not to be in charge.  He expects to move his family to Terre Haute in the near future   --- typed and donated by kbz
