Francis M. Linebaugh, section 17, post office Clearmont. The sujbect of this sketch is a native of Page Co Iowa and was born in 1857. He was there raised till 14 when he came with his father's family to this state and settled near where he now resides. He has 120 acres of land that will compare with any in this vicinty all of which is under cultivation. Mr. L was married Sept 15, 1878 to Elizabeth J. McGenty, an estimable lady. They have one child, Annie R.

Jacob Linebaugh, section 18, post office Clearmont, is one of the representative farmers and stock raisers of this district and has been closely identified with the raising of stock. He is a native of Greene County, Tenn and was born in 1828. At age 5, he with the family emigrated to Fountain County, Indiana where he was reared to manhood, following his present occupation. At the age of 21, he removed to Page Co Iowa where he resided until 1869, when he came to this county and settled where he now resides. He has 1,200 acres of land in a body and 500 acres of which are under cultivation. Mr. L was married Jan 6, 1852 to Miss Mary A. Gray. They have from this union six children: Sarah J, Francis M, William J, Julia A, Martha E. and Mary E. Mr. L is a member of the ME Church. John, the father of the subject of this sketch was an old pioneer of Fountain co and was closely identified with the agricultural interests of the same until his death, which occurred in 1860.
