JOHN G. KEEFER, farmer, Rob Roy, son of Israel and Margaret (Hall) Keefer, was born in Ross county Ohio, August 31 1851. He came with his parents to Shawnee township in the fall of 1854, and has lived here since that time. His father was a mechanic, and the use of tools coming to him naturally, he learned the carpenter's trade with much freedom but has never followed it to any great extent. He began farming in 1874. December 1873 he was married to Miss Henrietta Fisher, who was born February 24 1851. Her father came to Shawnee township, and first settled near Portland, about forty years ago. He died in Rob Roy in December 1854. They have two children; Estella b. October 3 1874, and Lula b. December 4 1876. Mr. Keefer was elected assessor of Shawnee township in the spring of 1880 for two years. He is a republican, active in politics and business, useful citizen.
