Joseph HARRIS

Joseph HARRIS was born in Germany March 25, 1838. When 19 he came to America and in 1857 located in Ford County. In 1860 he was united in marriage with Miss Josephine Strayer, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Strayer. She was born in Fountain County, Indiana. They had 9 children. Mr. Harris, for 5 years worked by the month. In 1865, he bought land of the Illinios Central RR Company.
