Felix Bowers, the octogenarian living with his daughter near Yeddo is the owner of a chair that is in all probably the oldest in this part of the state. It was made in Davis County NC by a local chairmaker named Jacob Black and has been in the Bowers family for three generations. It was brought to Fountain County by Mr. Bowers’ father in 1858 and has been doing duty daily during the entire 112 years. The date and name of its maker are stamped on the bottom of one of the splints of the seat. The family of Cornelius Bonebrake who also live near Yeddo have an interesting heirloom in a home-made drawknife, fashioned by Cornelius Bonebrake’s grandfather more than 100 years ago and preserved as a family relic – Attica Ledger-Press
