"Atchison Township" -- Jesse Bever, Sec 3, post office Burlington Junction. The subject of this sketch is a native of Fountain County, Indiana and was born Oct 6, 1852. When one year old, he was taken to Ringgold County, Iowa where he was raised in the occupation he now follows. In 1869, he moved to this state and county and settled in his present location. He has 160 acres of land as good as any in the township, all of which is under cultivation. Mr. Bever was married Oct 11, 1869 to Miss Emma McMIllan, a native of Indiana. They have two children, Estella and Fred. Mr. Bever is school director of this district.

Note: Jesse died 9-10-1931 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, Nodaway Co Missouri
