Died in Cates, Fountain County, Indiana 26 July 1896 when he drank rat poison (got it out of his grandfather clock in the middle of the night), thinking it was his medicine.
His wife, Annie Elizabeth Sowers was born 8 May 1839 in Rowan Co NC
Died in Cates, Fountain County, Indiana 18 July 1922.
They are both buried in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery.
They raised seven children in Fountain County.
