CYRUS VALENTINE CUNNINGHAM

Cyrus V. Cunningham Deceased was born in Vermillion County, Indiana Dec 15, 1829 and was the son of the late Thomas Cunningham who died in 1846. When 25 years old, deceased moved to Mound Township, Warren County, and located 3 1/2 miles west of Covington where he lived all his life. Dec 17, 1855, he was married to Mary Oliphant and to them were born 7 children, 5 sons and 2 daughters. He department this life at his home at noon, July 4, 1903, of cattarah of the stomach after an illness of two weeks. He had for 30 years been an active member of the Methodist Church, joining the church with his family on the porch at their home. He leaves a wife, aged 65 and 3 sons and 2 daughters surviving him. He died possessed of an estate of 1700 acres of land in one of the most fertile portions of this county, extending from the Wabash River almost to State Line City. He was 73 years, 4 months and 19 days of age. The funeral services were conducted at the late home of the deceased by Rev. A.P. Paxon of Newtown, Ind and remains were laid to rest in the family burial ground on the farm, on Monday July 6, 1903.
