Source: Marion Indiana Leader-Tribune Mon Aug 14, 1905 p 5

The many  friends and acquaintances of Sewell A. Nebeker in this city were surprised to learn of his marriage Saturday to an Anderson young lady, Miss Bell Quick, a prominent society girl of that city and well known as a concert singer.  Mr. Nebeker lived in Marion in 1893-94 his father EH Nebeker, Coming to this city soon after expiration of his term of service as US treasurer under the administration of President Harrison. The elder Nebeker was prominent in the affairs of the Philadelphia Land Company in which the Hon. George W. Steele. John Wanamaker and other prominent men were interested. The residence here of Sewell Nebeker made him many friends and he was always welcomed on his visit here after the family had removed to Covington, Ind their old home. The Anderson Herlad has this account of the wedding.

Of unusual interest in social circles was the wedding of Miss Nellie Quick, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. HH Quick and Mr. Sewell Nebeker of Indianapolis which was performed at the home of the bride’s parents, 215 West Eleventh Street at 12 o’clock yesterday. The fact that the intended nuptials were kept a profound secret from even the most intimate friends of the bride until the last moment makes the occasion a greater surprise.  The wedding which is the most notable of the early fall weddings was  characterized by extreme simplicity. The Rev IW Grafton of the Central Christian Church pronounced the service, the bridal couple standing in the folding doorway which separates the sitting hall from the parlor. The bride was attired in a simple traveling gown with hat to match.  She was unattended.  No music heralded the bridal procession.  Decorations consisted of a few choice flowers in vases.  The ceremony was witnessed only by the relatives and a few intimate friends. Following congratulations an elaborate wedding breakfast was served. The afternoon was given over to a joyous time and early last evening the bridal couple departed for Chicago. They had no definite route selected and intended going wherever fancy led them. They will return some time next month and will be at home in the __ flats, Indianapolis. The bride is well known as a concert singer having toured Europe in that capacity. She is tall and handsome with a striking personality which has endeared her to a host of friends. The groom is a rising young business man of the capital city.
