Attica June 29 – A double wedding took place Saturday evening at 8 o’clock at the Methodist Church in which the contracting parties were: Miss Blanche Julian and Clifford Oakley and Miss Dorothy F. Dreher and Ralph Fugate well known young people of Attica. Rev. Benedict read the marriage service. There were no guests present. Mrs. Oakley is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Julian now of Danville. She has spent most of her life in Attica, growing to womanhood here. She has been bookkeeper at the Attica Telephone office for several years. Mr. Oakley of this city and he too has grown up in Attica. He follows the carpenter trade and at present is employed at the Will McMurtrie shop.
Mrs. Fugate is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dreher. She is a graduate of the Attica HS and for several years has been stenographer in the law office of JS Nave. She is one of the few women in the state of Indiana who have been admitted to the bar to practice law. She is very prominent among the workers in the Methodist Sunday School. Mr. Fugate is the son of Milton Fugate and is a master mechanic employed at the National Car Coupler plant.
The newlyweds left Saturday night for Indianapolis for a weekend visit. Mr. and Mrs. Oakley are at home to their friends at 609 South Perry Street where they have their home furnished and ready for them. Mr. and Mrs. Fugate have taken rooms at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith on North Perry Street. - kbz
