CORY-SWAIM
Source: Iva Lewis Obituary Scrapbook
On Wednesday evening June 1st, 1898, at 8:30 at the residence of Wm. B. Swaim’s near Tangier, Mr. Claude Corey of Kingman and Miss Sylvia Swaim of Parke county, were united in wedlock by Rev. Asberry. Claude is a son of J. M. Corey a prosperous business man of this place. Claude is a young man who is well respected here and is a shrewed young business man, and is well worthy of the prize he won. Miss Sylvia Swaim is a daughter of W. B. Swaim, one of Parke county’s most prosperous farmers, and a young lady who stands high in society’s circle. She being a good milliner and him a No I druggist, we bespeak for them a happy union, and wish them a smooth journey through life together. They returned home Thursday where a grand reception was tendered them by his parents. – jlr
